The 4 Cs stand for Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat Weight. Let's take a closer look at each of these factors. 1. Color Color is one of the most important aspects of a gemstone. It is what makes the stone beautiful and unique. The color of a gemstone is judged based on three things: hue, tone, and saturation. Hue: This is the basic color of the gemstone, like red, blue, or green. Tone: This describes how light or dark the color is. Saturation: This tells us how pure or intense the color is.
